lots of things are making me stressed right now, but lots of things are making me really happy too!
the thing that is making me most happy right now is that i finally have a functional workspace!! i had a corner crammed with mismatched (i claimed it was cool, but others disagreed) and pretty useless furniture and after moaning about it online to liz a few days ago, she jumped in her car and drove here from phx to construct me a space worth calling a studio! her and mick were like a couple of little bandits in home depot, sourcing the goods to build a counter and shelves. all up - including a trip to ikea for the stool and some cool storage boxes, it cost less than $200! not bad eh?
(the view from my living room...kitchen on the right, studio on the left! front door straight ahead. its a small room, but it works!)
liz is all kinds of cool when it comes to contructing and organising. she whipped my lameness into shape. i still can't use a drill properly though.i love the way these little homemade albums and books look all jammed into a shelf. makes me very very happy to see!
and some new purchases from lucky 15 while in phx last week...they will have online shopping soon so i can't wait!
i can't wait to use that little tree stamp :)becky (who i am missing like crazy lately *sniff*) informed me just today that our favourite artist and scrapbooker of all time rebecca sower has a blog!! i am dying of happiness over that one. she is so amazing and inspirational and i cannot wait to get a daily fix!!
and finally...happiness right here - ivy 'allowed' me to do her hair! this is a rare privilidge...
she loved her 'princess hair' and amazingly, kept it in all day long :)hope you are happy this monday evening too!
:)

Liz!!!..the little sweetie! What a good friend to have in a scrap space fix!!!...and Ivy's hair looks SO cute!...and in Char's skirt...(sniff)..

ahh, so happy you're finding a little happiness to lift you, even if temporarily! THe craft corner is divine, so jealous and if liz ever needed a new friend she would have one for life if she came and worked such magic on my "eclectic" area.
Hey no need to buy those little crocheted flowers! THey are so easy to make! I'm going to make you some!
I have girls too who rarely let me play with their hair! such a treat when they do!

Isn't it great to have a cool space to create in! Love it! I showed little Kate the pic of Ivy with her hair done HOPING she would let me "do" hers. No luck -- I guess she will continue to look like a wild child!

Your friend Liz is a whiz. I am oh-so-jealous. I have been staring at my pathetic excuse for a scrapbooking corner for 2 months now. I STILL have not organized it (we just moved in at the beginning of this summer). Think she might want to head north and give a pathetic sistah some aid? BTW, my 4 yr old needs to be bribed to sit still for me. And she now hates hair knots, which I think are too cute... but apparently not so cool anymore. Good job!
