art journal challenge - week 21

lately i have been thinking a lot about qualities that i have developed as i have experienced life in my 20's, qualities that i have, that i hope for, or may just be sprouting and need constant work to help continue to grow. i often struggle to admit my strengths (something i am working on!) because i feel as soon as it is said out loud or on paper i begin to doubt...or i feel as if i am being vain or proud by admitting i am good at something. this i hope to remedy in my art journals :) i am pretty sure this is a common thread amongst women in society today...we judge ourselves too harshly, compare ourselves to others, find it a struggle to admit and recognise our beauty and strengths. this week, perhaps take some time to reflect on your strengths (we all have them!) as well as qualities you aspire towards. you could even ask someone you are close to to share with you what they can see...sometimes it is a nice surprise to hear what others see as your strengths!

so this weeks challenge is: your redeeming qualities/qualities you aspire towards

Aj21

(scan came out a bit dodgy!) i glued strip of sassafrass-lass paper to side, painted in white paint by matisse. dove stamp from paper source, jewel frame by heidi swapp. i like the way the pen wrote in some places, and scratched away my paint in others.

have a wonderful week!

this is beautiful.. i can't wait to do this !

Your card is really great !It will be a challenge to make it , to think about the possitive things about yourself instead of thinking the negative things, have to ask someone how they see me, find it difficult to say it about myself !, have a nice day !

What a great promt!
Love Your card allso!

Can't wait to get started

I've been loving your blog and this challenge but this is the first time I've been 'game' enough to comment. I started late, caught up, got behind and have caught up again, lol, hope I can keep up now! You can check out all my cards in my blog:

Have a nice week.;-)

I love the blink circle around the bird. Great effect with the scratched off paint where you have written.
I wanted a subtle dreamy effect for mine & it was a tad too subtle on the picture. Looks stronger in the hand. Struggled with qualities as I based my I AM card, week 3 on them.
