once upon a time it was just the two of us...and this past weekend we got a taste of that again!
we stayed in an amazing bushland retreat in the south west and did nothing but be lazy...
(well, i was lazy - here you can see mick 'relaxing' by working out a mathmatical equation as to why the water swirls in the opposite direction here as in the US...i tell no lie!!!)
the weather was kind, the food was yummy and the uninterrupted talking between us was the best!
(mick chose this new metal bead for me at a local bead shop, i love it)
it was a little piece of heaven to be alone for 3 days - the longest time since ivy was born! a late celebration of our 10 years together...a nice little nurturing of our love in our favourite surroundings. bliss :)
How wonderful for you both & just before the new baby arrives. My husband & I have been married 20 years and most years we celebrate our anniversary with a weekend away courtesy of the grandparents child sitting for us, I think its beneficial for everyone!

Dang..it's been a long time since the kids were whisked away, and even longer since the dh and I ever WENT anywhere when they were gone. Lucky, lucky you guys!

So lovely! I can't remember my last child-free time away from home with my husband. Well, maybe that's a good thing. So, did the math work? Is there a reason for the reverse swirl?

sounds like a perfect retreat! The hubby and I took a impromptu road trip to pick huckleberries, and stayed in a pretty little lodge. Even a bit romantic with the two three year olds and wiener dog in tow! But one day we'll do it on our own....
