after a few emails coming in with similar questions, i wanted to clarify a few things about the felt-a-licious felting workshop!
*there is no knitting involved! we'll be working with wool roving (thats the fluffy stuff pictured below). it gets layered, then agitated with water and soap and your hands to create FELT! (kind of like magic!)
*we will be posting all of the projects during the 'workshop' timeframe (nov 26-dec 4), but you will be able to download (and save/print if you like) the instructions and work on the projects at your own pace - anytime up until the end of this year.
*you do not have to buy a kit to join in! you can gather your own wool roving (know any sheep?!), which can be found in knitting/fibre stores, craft stores and apparently even in walmart! you need about 60 grams/2 oz. of wool for the projects we have planned. 3+ colours would be good!
*if you do wish to buy a kit from nicole (the wool she sourced for us is amazing!), bear in mind that it will take about a week to reach you if you live outside of australia. so to have it in time for the official workshop start - please order by friday the 19th.
(photo nicole sent me after shopping for our WOOL! YUM!)
*you will not need any other fancy supplies to felt with. eg a bowl, soap, bubblewrap, needle, thread and a few buttons.
*the projects will all make a.w.e.s.o.m.e christmas gifts!

waiting to hear back from nicole re a question about shipping, and then i'm so signing up for this class. never done anything like this before, and i could use a creative/life pick-me-up.

I am IN!! Signed up, and shopped Nicole's shop. Since my daughter is begging me to pull out the Christmas stuff early this year, I think I will. We'll take care of everything but the tree before Thanksgiving and then I can focus on making some Christmas gifts here (if I can part with them!) Now off to get the rest of the Halloween stuff put away!!

Oh I really want to do it but won't be able to fit it in at the moment. Do you think you'll do another workshop next year?

These look really cool, but as the mama of two boys, I'm worried I would be left with a lot of pink wool afterwards. Will you be doing any boy oriented projects?
