since our first christmas in america, we've gone on an annual 'after christmas road trip' to make the most of that week off work, and to see some sights. this year we had absolutely no desire to do anything but be cosy and lazy at home all week...and we loved every minute of it. pajamas all day every day, the woodstove, playing with new toys, movies, games by the fire, watching the snow fall - then melt, an excessive amount of sweet treats! daily walks to check on the frozen status of the lake, and snuggling on the couch whenever we could...
nicest week there ever was.

Sounds like a great week! We've had hardly any snow up here in the Champlain Valley. Every where else around us gets it. Even places just 20 min. away. It's like we live in the tropics in our little path of land here in the valley. Crazy stuff!
I adore Ivy's hat!!

Love the pic of Banjo on his wooden board toy - he looks like a surfer-dude-in-the-making!

What absolute gorgeousness, I know you miss Australia but with the 41 degree heat, I would happily swap places, I'd like to be cosy rather than sweaty.

Looks like a fantastic way to spend the week to me!!! Am also loving the board toy and thinking of the hours of fun my kids would have with such a thing!

What a brilliant idea. There's nothing like really settling into a newish place than with a week at home. Glad that you got to enjoy some time together and that you had a great time in the process. Stay snug there. Certainly not icy in Aus! xoxo
