(i told you he likes to pull the fancy skating moves)
we had a fun family afternoon on the frozen lake, wobbly-skating (we aren't natives to this place you know!), inspecting chunks of frozen magical sparkles, eating ice, rolling around on the ice, slamming bums into the ice, bike riding, chair-pushing and enjoying the beautiful day.
i stayed in my boots close to the edge for comfort and safety reasons, while my over-active imagination strategised how i'd rescue my entire family as they fell into the icy waters. thankfully that didn't happen (i may or may not have seen too many scary movies in my life).
and everyone needs to come and snuggle mumma when they are cold or hurt! just doing my job :)

looks like fun, if a little too cold for my liking !!! love Banjo's rosy cheeks....am expecting big things of Mick in the next winter Olympics figure skating :)

I bet they don't have frozen lakes in Perth! It looks like a lot of fun for all, although I have to admit I took a deep breath at the picture of Banjo on his bike on the ice.
You look lovely, Em - your dreads seem to have gone through a growth spurt recently, they are so long and gorgeous!

beautiful! i so want to take my little tikes out onto some ice like this, but i, too, have some serious icy lake phobias!! when i was in high school, i wrote this overly dramatic, totally devastating short story about two little friends who went out on the ice -- you can imagine the goth ending to my little tale, i'm sure. anyway, i love seeing your ice adventures and hope to have some of my own soon! xo
