we hunkered down for the storm here yesterday, not quite sure what to expect but trying to be as prepared as possible just incase! luckily we made out with no more than crazy raging winds and rain and two days of cancelled school!
with the fire keeping us warm inside we watched all the leaves blow off the trees outside, listened to the wind-chimes and entertained ourselves with this 'bonus' day together. the girls made a 'black and white stripe club' with a schedule full of fun things such as circus performance, making an obstacle course for the rabbit in the bathroom, guitar lessons and 'free time'!!
banjo spent the day wielding a screwdriver and attempting to sabotaging said black & white stripe club, and inbetween making food for ravenous children and playing mediator i managed to do some cutting...and a little bit of sewing!
feeling grateful to be warm and dry and hoping you kept safe too.
xo

As I read about the girls' club and the circus act, I wondered if you have ever heard of Circus Smirkus. It's a youth circus based in Vermont. They tour New England during the summer. I think it is something you family would enjoy. A definite New England treasure. www.smirkus.org (I'm not affliated with them, just a big fan.)

I'm guessing that to be a member of "Black + White Stripy Club" you had to wear black and white stripy tights ... ? Love the sound of the "surcus club" - actually their whole day seems like fun. And I'm glad you guys were safe.

So glad you made it through, safe and sound! We, too, are safe, although so very many in our state (NJ) are not. The stripy club looks so fun! :)

So glad to hear that you fared well through it all. We had a flooded garage...so many hours sweeping out water and assorted flotsom. Other than that we were greeted this morning with the sun and blue skies! I tell you, my mood has lifted with crazy thoughts like...I need to clean the house! But, I think I'll enjoy the sunshine for a little longer!
Love, love, love Banjo's new "do!" He's quiet the handsome young man.

I love bonus days. I'm so happy that you're safe and you got to spend some fun time inside with the kids. I always loved when school was canceled.

Seeing all this material makes me wonder, are you going to be making any of your funky skirts soon? I would love to buy one. Hope the weather is getting better in your neck of the woods.
