quirky quilty scarf

i was looking through some old pictures on my computer and came accross these from a tutorial i did for a website 2 autumns ago. i thought hey! thats a cool scarf! (and hey! thats a really ugly table...why didn't i paint it sooner?) i should make another one of those! maybe i will, maybe i won't...either way - here are the simple instructions should you find yourself staring at a pile of fabric scraps one day and wondering what you could do with them...

..ta da! a quirky colourful fun scarf to dangle around your neck! should you be the type with hips worthy of drawing attention to (i am not), it could be a cool belt too. or flag-type-dangly thing from a doorway. crazy quilting, i love it in any form!

naptime makes: doily flags

i recently went to my first ever estate sale, it was very exciting! i made out with 2 big boxes full of vintage linens, aprons, fabrics and doilies - better than christmas morning! i am a lover of all things prayer-flag-dangly-hanggy-bunting so used some of the doilies for a summery string of happiness across our verandah. it's been a while since i've made/photographed a project, these days i need fast + easy instant gratification, something i can make during banjo's nap! here's how... the good thing about white doilies is that they won't fade in the sunlight and can cheer up any ol' spot around the house or garden. i made flags for my brothers wedding the same way but with half circles of fabric.

hooray for happy flags, and afternoon toddler naps :)
