hi my fellow mini art journallers! it was SO COOL meeting some of you over the weekend and seeing your cards in real life! the different sizes and textures and little bits and pieces that get missed in a scan/photo - it really made me all tingly and happy to be able to look through them in real life.
i have missed having a 'normal sunday' for the past few weeks and being able to do my cards...it was impossible to get online yesterday and tonight (as i type this from my mums computer, HOME in perth!) i had planned to post my 'spare' card i made a few weeks ago...but it just doesn't feel right! i guess it is kind of selfish of me but i always like to come up with a theme or prompt that is something relevant to my week or something that has been on my mind, that way the creating comes naturally to me and it feels more from my heart. so...it is so so late and i am completely exhausted from, well, everything basically! so i am going to go to beddy byes in my OLD BEDROOM tonight! after i moved out of home it became my brothers bedroom (actually i came home from our honeymoon to discover he had packed everything up and moved it all into the corridor himself without anyone's help...i think he was excited to get his own bedroom finally - although i was mad he went through all my stuff!), and now that he is gone from home too it is a pretty guestroom. so i want to make my card about my old room and the memories i have of it, the fiascos and fun that went on in there throughout my teenage years, sleepovers and homework and hissy fits and piles of clothes and my handpainted walls. i'll make my card tomorrow and edit it into this post.
so this weeks prompt is: your bedroom.
current or old, it surely holds some special memories or decor that can be elaborated on for your card this week...
i covered the card in paper and sewed a little vellum envelope onto the card to hold a bunch of journalling notes...the little birdcage image is cut from a post-it-note and taped on, leter stickers are making memories.
Oh how funny! I'm going to have a great time with this one! Glad to hear you are having a lovely time on your trip.

fun idea! as usual!
instantly was taken back to the first bedroom that I can remember..age 4 or 5 until age 12 or so.... pink gingham and white ric rak. EVERYWHERE! curtains, tie backs, dust ruffle, sheets, shams, lamp shades...probably why now I go for more the ecclectic not matchy look!
Glad you are having fun. Thanks for the updates.

oh yeah...now the mojo is flowing...I will do pink gingham, white ric rak and add a picture of donny osmond, david cassity and the young cute michael jackson all of whom were my "husbands" when my sister and I would play house in "pink gingham land".
thanks for reviving the memories cira 1970!!!

What a cool idea...although I'm not sure if I want to delve into my childhood room I shared for years with my sister - with it's wood paneling and Culture Club, Duran Duran, and Prince posters....so perhaps I'll do something more current ;)

I had thought of first of painting a big pirate ship because my husband insists on have a HUGE one on our dresser to counter- balance all my girly decorating. I think now though it would be fun to paint something with Strawberry Shortcake. hmmmm. We'll see. I'm excited to see how yours turns out.
I just finished last week's prompt of getting someone else to contribute. Well, finished enough to post. I'll be adding to it for a few weeks. :)

Em, I did some classes with you on the weekend and I *loved* them, and it was such a pleasure to meet you! Plus I got to spend some time with your mum - she's so lovely! And I also got to congratulate Mick on his video - David Attenborough is retiring you know, so maybe there's an opportunity there ;-)
I haven't done my card yet so I'll be back later in the week.
