mick who?
my evening company of late has been a giant pile of fabric scraps, my sewing machine and hilariously bad 90's music (oh, high-school!). and...none of these steal my ice-cream either, so i may be keeping company with them more often in the future.
i've been making lots of skirts - some for me, some for custom etsy orders. its been fun sewing them for someone in particular rather than making random sizes/colour choices, after all the chatting back and forth about colour and design i feel like i have a new friend - i love to mail them and imagine the skirts being worn (so far in england, australia, new zealand and america!)
here are a few new ones, and more can be seen on my facebook page...
all made from thrifted tshirts that are spilling out of my studio and taking over the living room...
yindi has test-driven the little people skirts for spinny-ness, and thankfully they pass.
this one is my new favourite and is currently on day 5 of consecutive wearing. jeans, yoga pants, flowy skirts. it looks good over them all! the peanut butter and snot on it however, does not look good so sadly i must wash it today. maybe i will make another one tonight...
visit my etsy shop if you would like a skirt made just for you!
i am in love!!! i really love that second one down, after the stripey one...you are so creative!! and they make one's butt look good ;)

Kim, the one you like is mine and I cannot wait until it arrives!
Em, it's been fun designing this skirt between us. I love designing clothes but simply don't have the sewing skills. The clothes you make are exactly the sort I would make if I could sew.

LOVE that last one most of all! Was felting flowers today thinking back to the course before Christmas and decided to share the felting love and teach a friend of mine. She too fell in love with it in all its relaxing glory. Feeling so much gratitude for having found your blog/class and as a result a new crafting love and just thought I should pass that gratitude along :)

Hi Emily, I so love your t-shirt skirts. I found the link to your instructions on Today's Mama, but the photos and PDF are not working...? http://todaysmama.com/2009/05/t-shirts-to-ta-da/ Anywhere else we can see it? Thanks so much!

Sad story that the links aren't working! Please, please, where else can we get that info! I love these and would love to give it a try. I ended up making a patchwork dress like the ones you made for your girls at Easter. Most hours I've ever logged on one project. But these look more doable. Do you use a serger? Could you do it with a regular sewing machine? Help, Emily! :)

These are wonderful! I wish you would do a little online workshop/tutorial on making these like you did for the felting!? (I took the wet felting workshop with you when you were in AZ!)I'm sure what you need is just another thing to do. ;) But I'm sure you would have a lot of participants...!

I can't wait to get mine! I have been looking every where for my tape measure...moving casualty for sure as I can't find it anywhere, perhaps I'll just guess at a measurement!

Okay, I'm really curious. Do you surger the edges or just zig-zag with a regular machine??
Your skirts are darling!
