way back in the day, the day of january 2007 that is, i began a little mini art journal challenge on ye olde blog which was lots of fun, a challenge, more fun, enabled new friendships and big beautiful bubbles of inspiration amongst those who participated as we shared our different personalities and artworks on those tiny surfaces (many used a deck of playing cards). i loved my messy stack of cards at the end of the year - such a cool time capsule type thing.
last year i felt all un-journally and fully admit to my loser-ish behaviour of bailing out of my own art journal pages and challenge. ahem. sorry! i am here to make amens this year, with a renewed desire to journal journal journal...will you join me? please? don't make me beg now.it's so much more fun with you!
each week (on sun/mon) i will post a new question to ask yourself, which can be interpreted in any way and journalled through words and scraps and art on your chosen surface. small = good. one of the reasons i became overwhelmed last year was my large surface. stick with small if you want things to be easier. chop up cardstock scraps, use a deck of cards again, envelopes, tags...whateVa...! i'm using little shipping tags this year which are nice and yummy and exciting to mess up! i've made a few little kits for sale in my etsy if you want a fun and ready-to-go little bundle of stuff.
once you start making hop on over and join the 52Q flickr group to post your lovlies and chitty chat with others in the group...also feel free to just post a link in the comments section of my blog posts to direct others to your artmaking so we can all share the love :)
so lets get to the good stuff!
question 1: what do i wish for this year to bring?
{i'm planning on writing my question on the front, and journalling on the back - anything goes, whatever feels right for you...}
i'm so looking forward to connecting with you all like this once again...there is so much beauty in our individuality, our handwriting, the way our minds work to interpret the question...i love to see it all unfold and hope you will join in and have fun with it - and by the end of 2009 have this very special little piece of you right here, right now...
